London
is a great mixture of cultures and languages. This is why I’d
recommend it to everybody. The best way to travel to London is by an
economic class flight. There are lots of flights from Girona to
London Stanted or Luton every day. You’d better travel light and on
your own. You shouldn’t go on a guided tour, London is easy to get
around by tube (the tube is how London people called their
underground). The cheapest way to travel by tube is buying the Oyster
Card.
London
has lots of hostels and bed and breakfast to stay. I’d recommend to
check into an hotel near King Cross St Pancras because is well
connected and quiet at night. Hotels are not so expensive in this
zone.
You
should definitely see the Picadilly circus in Oxford Street.
Whatever the season that you go is always full of people. And close
there it’s worth to enter to China Town to walk, smell and eat the
typical confit duck in the Chinese restaurants. That’s good to know
that China town becomes dangerous from midnight. Many thieves watch
the clueless tourists.
That’s
well worth walking around Hyde Park one afternoon when you are tired
to buy in Harrods. Oh no! Harrods is the most expensive big store in
London you’d better see but not buy anything.
That’s
good to know the two biggest markets in London. One is Candem Town.
You ought to go there in order to see lots of bizarre stores and all
kind of food (Italian, Japanese, Indian food whatever you like is
there). The other market is Covent Garden. It is full of street
artists. Jugglers, contortionists and clowns are mixed in a big craft
market.
You
shouldn’t get back from London without seeing the guards of the
Tower of London. Their nickname is beefeater and they are always
willing to take a photo with you.
It
isn’t really worth visiting Buckingham Palace because it is so
expensive and you have to do a long queue at about 2 or 3 hours to
enter in Palace.
London
Eye and Big Ben are two activities that you should do at night. It’s
worth to take them a photograph to give as a souvenir when you come
back.
Bring
back souvenirs such as t shirts, pencils or red little buses. They
put always the same slogan ( I love London).
I’ve
already been to London. Have you been in London yet?
